Palette Knife Play is a new workshop for 2026.

A relaxed, technique-focused workshop designed to build your creative confidence and remove the fear of painting with a palette knife.

Over two hours, you’ll explore how to hold and control a palette knife, experiment with colour mixing and simple colour theory, and practice foundational techniques such as creating texture, painting expressive seas, and forming simple subjects like citrus fruits and clean straight lines.

This is not about creating one finished artwork – it’s about learning the skills behind the artwork so you can start, reconnect with or continue your own creative life.

You’ll leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation of how palette knife painting can work, practical exercises in your workbook, and the confidence to join future sessions feeling capable and ready such as:
Palette Knife Create (the classic 2-hour workshop where you paint a take-home artwork) or
Palette Knife Immersion (a half-day deep dive into a more complex artwork that will really develop your palette knife skills).

But for now, I’m looking forward to playing with paints together… no experience necessary – just creative curiosity!
